Position Overview
CP Engineers is seeking a Business Development Manager to support growth within our Commercial & Industrial Services (CIS) practice. This role is responsible for driving strategic growth and developing long-term client relationships within the commercial and industrial markets, with a focus on life sciences, manufacturing, and industrial facilities.
This is a highly visible, externally facing role that combines technical engineering knowledge with consultative business development, strategic client engagement, and long-term relationship management. Conduct client meetings, site walks, and industry networking to generate new business opportunities. Develop a strong understanding of client operational challenges and position CP Engineers as a trusted long-term partner.
  • Proposal & Scope Development: Lead the development of project scopes and proposals from initial site walk through final submission. Translate field observations and client needs into defined, accurate, and executable scopes of work. Coordinate fee development and proposal assembly in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Client Management: Serve as the primary client contact for assigned accounts, maintaining ongoing relationships throughout pursuit and project delivery. Anticipate client needs, identify cross-functional opportunities across CP Engineers' service lines, and support long-term account growth through trusted advisory relationships.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain and manage a qualified pipeline of opportunities using Client Relationship Management (CRM) tool, tracking pursuit status, probability, and revenue timing. Apply disciplined Go/No-Go evaluation criteria to prioritize high-value, strategically aligned pursuits that support long-term practice growth.
  • Market Development: Stay current on industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities within the CIS market. Represent CP Engineers at industry events and professional organizations to strengthen market presence and visibility.
  • Internal Coordination: Collaborate closely with service group leaders, project managers, and the Director of Sales & Marketing to align client development efforts with technical capabilities, operational priorities, and firmwide growth strategy. Ensure smooth handoff from pursuit to project execution.

Join CP Engineers and play a key role in driving strategic growth across our Commercial & Industrial Services practice. Apply today!
