Didion Orf Recycling is a leading provider of recycling and scrap metal management services. We specialize in the collection, processing, and selling of metals and electronics, contributing to a sustainable future. We're seeking to hire an experienced Accounting and Operations Assistant.
We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Accounting and Operations Assistant to support our operations. This position combines accounting responsibilities, customer service, and operational support.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working with numbers, communicates well with customers and coworkers, and can manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
  • Enter, review, and process payments to customers.
  • Enter and pay invoices.
  • Provide backup support for pricing and dealer payments.
  • Create invoices.
  • Follow up with customers regarding outstanding payments.
  • Communicate with department managers and supervisors about sales orders and purchase orders.
  • Coordinate with buyers on special pricing and purchase-order creation.
  • Maintain settlement reports.
  • Use Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks Online to prepare and format reports.
  • Assist the Controller with year-end tax forms and quarterly sales-tax reporting.
  • Enter credit-card receipts and reconcile monthly statements.
  • Verify the accuracy of payments made to customers and vendors.
  • Process vehicle titles and submit them to the Motor Vehicle Bureau within required deadlines.
  • Open the scale house each morning.
  • Provide backup coverage for scale operators during breaks, lunches, absences, and scheduled Saturdays.
  • Track and order supplies.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and provide excellent customer service.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping and accounts payable.
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Excel and Office.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to handle confidential financial and customer information.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and changing priorities.

Schedule
  • 7:00 am to 3:30 pm M-F.
  • Some Saturdays required from 8 am to 12 pm.
