Position Summary

The Service Operations Assistant supports the Service Operations Manager in leading front-end operations, customer service functions, Drive Up & Go fulfillment, associate development, and daily store execution. This position helps ensure exceptional customer service, efficient checkout operations, labor productivity, and operational excellence while maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures. The Service Operations Assistant serves as a member of the store leadership team and assumes leadership responsibilities when assigned.

Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Store Experience
  • Promote a customer-first culture and ensure outstanding customer service throughout the store.
  • Assist in resolving customer concerns, complaints, and service recovery situations in a professional and timely manner.
  • Monitor customer service levels and support initiatives that enhance the shopping experience.
  • Ensure front-end areas remain clean, organized, and welcoming.
  • Serve as a role model for customer engagement and service excellence.
Front-End Operations
  • Assist in overseeing cashiering, courtesy clerk, self-checkout, and customer service desk operations.
  • Support efficient customer flow and minimize checkout wait times.
  • Monitor front-end productivity and service performance throughout the day.
  • Ensure compliance with cash handling procedures, register accountability, and operational standards.
  • Assist in executing promotions, loyalty programs, and company service initiatives.
  • Help maintain coverage levels that support business needs and service goals.
Drive Up & Go Operations
  • Support daily Drive Up & Go operations to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Monitor order accuracy, productivity, and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Assist with training and coaching associates on fulfillment and pickup procedures.
  • Help maintain organization and efficiency in staging and pickup areas.
  • Support growth in digital sales through operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Provide direction, coaching, and support to front-end and service associates.
  • Assist with training, onboarding, and development of new employees.
  • Reinforce company policies, procedures, and customer service standards.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous retail, customer service, or grocery experience preferred.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier loads with assistance when necessary.
