Position Purpose

The Service Operations Assistant supports the Service Operations Manager in overseeing front-end operations, customer service programs, associate development, and administrative functions. This position helps ensure efficient daily operations, exceptional customer service, compliance with company policies, and achievement of store performance goals.

Key Responsibilities Front-End Operations
  • Assist in coordinating daily front-end activities, including cashiering, customer service, self-checkout, and courtesy services.
  • Ensure efficient customer flow and appropriate staffing levels throughout operating hours.
  • Monitor checkout performance and assist in reducing customer wait times.
  • Support execution of company initiatives, promotional programs, and operational priorities.
  • Assist with opening, closing, and manager-on-duty responsibilities as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and customer-ready front-end environment.
Customer Service
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and promote a customer-first culture.
  • Assist customers with inquiries, complaints, returns, exchanges, and service concerns.
  • Resolve customer issues professionally and in accordance with company policies.
  • Support customer loyalty programs and promotional initiatives.
  • Ensure service standards consistently meet or exceed customer expectations.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Provide daily direction, coaching, and support to front-end associates.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training new associates.
  • Monitor associate performance and reinforce company expectations.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and associate engagement.
  • Support scheduling and staffing activities to meet operational needs.
  • Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Service Operations Manager.
Cash Handling & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all cash-handling procedures and financial controls.
  • Assist with register accountability, balancing, and reconciliation processes.
  • Support loss prevention and asset protection initiatives.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies, operating procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding financial and personnel information.
Administrative Support
  • Assist with preparation and maintenance of operational reports and documentation.
  • Support labor tracking, scheduling administration, and workforce management processes.
  • Help coordinate communication between store leadership and front-end associates.
  • Maintain accurate records and required department documentation.
  • Support completion of audits and operational reviews.
Safety & Store Operations
  • Promote a safe working environment for customers and associates.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety programs and procedures.
  • Assist with identifying and correcting safety hazards.
  • Support emergency procedures and incident reporting processes.
  • Collaborate with store leadership and department managers to achieve operational goals.
