Job description

Operations Assistant (Part-Time, Remote or Durham, NC)

PROTECT3D

$20-25/hr · 10–20 hrs/week

PROTECT3D builds custom 3D-printed medical devices. We're looking for a sharp, organized Operations Assistant to take ownership of data cleanup, entry, and light operational tasks, and to turn those tasks into repeatable processes.

What the role actually looks like: We'll hand you a messy pile, a dataset, an export, a reconciliation, and you'll work it independently, flag the edge cases that need a human decision rather than guessing, and hand it back clean. When a task is worth repeating, you'll write a short SOP so we can eventually automate it. If you like bringing order to chaos and closing loops fast, you'll fit right in.

Must-haves:

  • Strong judgment. You catch when data looks wrong and flag it instead of plowing ahead
  • Quick turnaround and reliable responsiveness. This isn't 9-to-5, but you're available and moving things during the day
  • Comfort working in spreadsheets

Nice-to-haves:

  • Ability to document a process clearly in a short SOP
  • Curiosity about automation, or light scripting experience
  • Familiarity with tools like Google Sheets, basic scripting, or a database

Hours & pay: 10–20 hrs/week, flexible scheduling, $25/hr. Remote works, Durham-based is a plus.

To apply: Skip the generic cover letter. In a few sentences, tell us about a time you cleaned up a messy dataset or process. What was broken, and how did you fix it?
