STATUS:Part time
DEPARTMENT: Athletics
DIVISION: Student Development
CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt
UNION: TOSSC-AFT Local 604
REPORTS TO: Director of Athletics
PLACEMENT: Grade 101
HIRING RANGE: $16.78 - $17.79

POSITION SUMMARY
The Event Center Athletics Operations Assistant oversees and monitors the daily activities that are scheduled. Employee is the front line individual that must know all aspects of the Event Center and the Athletic Department.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist Athletics Operations Coordinator with the planning, execution, supervision and breakdown of all athletic and special events.
2. Support the coordination of events, including intercollegiate athletic competitions, institutional functions, and internal and external facility rentals
3. Assist with scheduling and coordination of the Event Center building and associated spaces for both internal use and external rentals.
4. Coordinate 25Live scheduling requests for internal and external events, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established procedures and obtaining approval from the Athletic Operations Coordinator.
5. Create and maintain contracts for internal and external rentals, which will also then be confirmed and signed by Athletic Operations Coordinator
6. Assist with scheduling, supervising, and coordinating student workers to support event operations.
7. Prepare, track, and maintain contracts for internal and external facility rentals for review and final authorization by the Athletic Operations Coordinator.
8. Monitor the condition, maintenance, and overall readiness of athletic facilities to ensure venues are properly prepared for scheduled events.
9. Collaborate with appropriate departments and staff to create, place, and maintain clear and effective directional signage for meetings, rentals, and athletic contests.
10. Maintain effective working relationships with Campus Police, Facilities/Maintenance, Custodial Services, Media Services, and Food Services to coordinate event-related needs and resolve operational issues.
11. Provide building security by unlocking and locking facilities, monitoring access, and preventing unauthorized entry during events.
12. Respond promptly to requests for assistance and emergency situations; assist campus and local police and fire authorities as needed.
13. Perform additional duties as assigned to support athletic operations and institutional events.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Must pass a complete background check.
3. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate cars and 15 passenger vans.
4. Must be willing to be trained in CPR, AED, first aid and other emergency response as needed.
5. Must be able to assist with the rescue of injured or ill persons.
6. Must be able to work varying shifts on evenings and weekends.
7. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Computer experience and technology skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office.
2. English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs. to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
2. Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
3. Must be able to walk stairs and the entire Event Center as well as outdoor athletic fields.
WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Duties are performed indoors/outdoors in an athletic environment.
