Key Responsibilities:

The Operational Assistant is tasked with a variety of responsibilities that support both the operational and administrative aspects of construction projects. Key duties include:

  • Assisting with documentation, such as submitting project reports and maintaining records.
  • Facilitating communication between the office and field staff to enhance efficiency and project clarity.
  • Supporting construction managers in scheduling and planning project tasks and timelines.

Key Tasks and Duties

The Operational Assistant is tasked with specific duties to ensure the successful execution of construction projects:

  • Participate in project meetings and provide updates on planning and timelines.
  • Manage and file important project documents to ensure all stakeholders have access to necessary information.
  • Maintain, track, and verify daily quantities.
  • Input quantities into billing format and verifying with Operations Manager.
  • Assist with gathering data for change orders.
  • Assist with coordination and scheduling for various crews with the Operations Manager.
  • Review and verify time entries for various crews on a weekly basis.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs.
  • Assist in phase plans.
  • Assist with contacting vendors to obtain pricing.

Education and Certification Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in construction, engineering, or related fields preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in a construction setting is highly desirable.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team are essential.
  • Proficiency in using basic tools and technology related to construction management, such as project management software and common construction tools.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam preferred.
