As Finance Operations Analyst at Prophix, you will be a key member of the growing finance team. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, this role supports the administration of customer contracts, channel partner programs, sales commission accounting, and operational reporting while providing analytical and accounting support to Finance. This is a flexible position with accommodation for hybrid and remote workstyles.

Requirements

What You Will Do

Technology and Process Improvement

  • Leverage technology across your core responsibility to improve accuracy and efficiency 
  • Utilize technology to support finance data requests and reporting needs.
  • Partner across the finance organization to identify areas where technology can enhance operations
  • Support the development and implementation of a finance organization project management framework

Channel Partner Accounting

  • Prepare monthly journal entries for earned channel partner payments
  • Coordinate referral fee processing and related communications
  • Respond to inquiries from internal stakeholders and referral partners

Sales Commission Accounting

  • Prepare monthly journal entries for sales commissions
  • Support preparation of monthly payroll submission
  • Coordinate the preparation and distribution of compensation statements
  • Assist with compensation-related inquiries and administrative requests

Deal Desk and Contract Processing

  • Contribute to deal desk operations, including the administration and processing of customer contracts, order forms, renewals, and amendments
  • Partner with Sales, Finance, CSM, Legal, and other internal teams to facilitate deal approvals and contract execution
  • Review executed contracts for accuracy and complete internal customer onboarding steps

General Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate documentation in your areas of responsibility
  • Support annual financial statement audits by providing accurate information to external auditors
  • Other ad-hoc duties as required

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Financial Analysis, Sales Operations, Accounting, or a similar analytical role.
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, Power Query, and data analysis
  • Practical experience using technologies such as AI, SQL, or Python in process improvement and data manipulation capacities
  • Experience contributing to or leading internal software implementations or other large-scale projects
  • Must be legally entitled to work in the country where this role is located
  • Comfortable using AI tools responsibly to support tasks such as research, drafting, and data review
  • Able to learn new tools and adapt as technology and workflows evolve.
  • Curious, open to new approaches, and motivated to continuously improve.
  • Collaborative mindset when working across teams and with AI supported tooling.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a Deal Desk or contract/order administration capacity, with familiarity managing deal workflows end to end
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce or another CRM platform in a sales operations or finance context
  • Demonstrated ability to identify process improvement opportunities and implement technology-enabled solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
  • Experience with a cloud-based ERP accounting system
  • Experience working in SaaS software, or recurring revenue business environment

  • 30 days: You understand all our customer contracting situations and how we pay our channel partners and sales teams
  • 90 days: You submit journal entries to the Senior Accountant, you respond to internal questions relating to your function, and you prepare and process customer contracts
  • 6 months: You have a full understanding of the role and responsibilities. You are beginning to meet with each member of the finance team to understand where technology can be used across the team

Compensation

The total target compensation for this role is $70,000 CAD to $80,000 CAD, in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, location, and internal equity.
