Job description

Copperweld is looking for a driven, dedicated Operations Analyst to deliver financial reporting, analysis, and business insights for Copperweld Group and Corporate Planning functions. Working closely with the Sr. Operations Analyst and plant leadership, this role analyzes financial and operational performance, contributes to budgeting and forecasting efforts, develops performance reporting, and identifies opportunities to improve manufacturing finance processes across the organization.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys analyzing data, uncovering trends, and partnering with cross-functional teams to improve financial and operational performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

WHAT we need you to do.

  • Prepare month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close analysis, providing financial and statistical results to plant and senior leadership
  • Report and analyze monthly plant KPIs, including scrap, inventory, and freight, identifying trends and opportunities
  • Analyze inventory, cost accounting, and manufacturing variances to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Assist in the manufacturing budgeting and forecasting process by analyzing operating results, variances, and performance trends
  • Support the site-level forecasting process and annual budget development
  • Support the standardization of operational reporting and financial processes across manufacturing sites
  • Help ensure integrity of the manufacturing general ledger and prepare conclusions on P&L, manufacturing variances, labor analysis, and relevant capital expenditures for senior leadership monthly
  • Promote a visible, responsible financial culture by supporting plant leadership with financial training
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT you need to possess.

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, or equivalent experience, with 2-4 years of overall experience; manufacturing cost accounting experience is a plus but not required
  • Working knowledge of Plex is preferred but open to other major ERP system experience
  • Experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills
  • Strong financial acumen, analytical, problem-solving, data management, and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and business modeling skills
  • Solid planning and analysis skills for annual operating planning process, forecasts, analyses, etc.
  • Highly skilled in utilizing Excel for analysis and building decision models, proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
