 FTZ World Services LLC, a division of Expeditors International of Washington Inc.,  is backed by more than 100 years of experience in managing free trade zones.  The savvy professionals at FTZWS serve as facilitators in the Foreign Trade Zone industry, transitioning companies into the FTZ program, speeding up operations, and minimizing customs compliance risk.  FTZ World Services LLC is a leading expert in Foreign Trade Zones servicing FTZ Operators and Users. 

Job Description

FTZ World Services LLC, a division of Expeditors International of Washington Inc.,  has an immediate opening for a knowledgeable individual to assist in providing daily oversight of FTZ transactions, as well as provide administration and compliance support. FTZ World Services  will provide FTZ specific training for candidates regarding FTZ operations and manufacturing procedures. Candidate should have experience with importing, exporting, in-bond transactions, and CBP and FTZ regulations and compliance.  

Responsibilities:

FTZ Administrator, Operations, and Compliance Review Specialist will be involved in the FTZ daily duties, which will include the following:

  • Review or prepare FTZ admissions (e-214).
  • Review or prepare withdrawals for exportation and IT (QP/WP CBP Forms 7512)
  • Review or prepare withdrawals for consumption with designated Customs Broker
  • Review or prepare withdrawals for bonded warehouses and zone to zone transfers
  • Review or prepare manipulations, destructions, and temporary removals (CBPF 216)
  • Ensure all weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual FTZ forms and reports necessary for FTZ operations are submitted and reviewed for accuracy.
  • Maintain proper record keeping required for management of the FTZ.
  • Operate the FTZ inventory control and recordkeeping system.
  • Interact with Customs and Border Protection if necessary
  • Routinely update and report to management concerning activities related to the FTZ.
  • Process and verify FTZ related data.
  • Validate FTZ data against actual documentation as needed to ensure accuracy of integration and information.
  • Conduct audits of transactions and processes and make recommendations on improvements.
  • Coordinate all customs activities with other Custom Brokers, Forwarders, and logistics services providers
  • Monitor FTZ operations end to end to include daily processing zone transactions
  • Review Weekly estimate and weekly entry 3461's and 7501's
  • Reconcile the inventory records in the FTZ software information
  • Validate FTZ data against actual documentation as needed to ensure accuracy of integration and information
  • Conduct reviews/audits of all FTZ records while ensuring accurate and complete record keeping are maintained for FTZ movements
  • Keep updated with legislation changes impacting foreign trade zones
  • Provide annual FTZ reports (Yearly Blanket CBP form 216, Annual Reconciliation, Certification Letter, FTZ Board Report)
  • Other duties as assigned - Depending on status of ongoing projects and support needed on the different areas of Customs Compliance including but not limited to audits
  • Conduct audits of transactions and processes and make recommendations on improvements
  • Provide operational support to clients, internal and external.
  • Use of personal vehicle might be necessary to visit clients or CBP office.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of related FTZ and import experience in FTZ manufacturing operations
  • Experience creating 7512 in-bonds, Understanding of HTSUS merchandise classification, and import transactions
  • Candidates for this position should possess a working knowledge of logistics activities including import activities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The individual should be self-motivated and be capable of working as part of a team or alone with little supervision.
  • Possess  Knowledge of logistics terminology
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
