JOB DESCRIPTION

McDade-Woodcock, Inc. is seeking an experienced Controller to lead our accounting team at our corporate office in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They would be overseeing all accounting and financial operations for our New Mexico and Colorado operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong construction industry accounting experience, proven leadership ability, and a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. This position will assume management of the accounting department from the current Controller and ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage daily operations of the Accounting Department
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Oversee year-end closeout and accounting adjustments
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements, licensing, and regulatory filings
  • Coordinate annual audits, reviews, and relationships with external CPAs, auditors, and financial institutions
  • Monitor company cash flow and ensure project billings align with projected costs and financial goals
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff
  • Oversee and optimize use of Sage 100 Contractor accounting software
  • Manage transition of duties from existing Controller and maintain continuity of operations
  • Support ownership and executive management with financial reporting and analysis

KEY SKILLS & ABILITIES
