Job description

Parallel Ag is one of the largest AGCO agricultural equipment dealership groups in the Midwest, with locations across Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Illinois and Minnesota. As we've grown across our locations, our accounting department has grown right alongside - and we're looking for a Staff Accountant who wants more than routine of doing the same four tasks on repeat.

This role will see a lot of variety. You'll own core monthly reporting - receivables, payables, inventory, and sales - and you'll have the runway to learn every corner of the department: reconciliations, close processes, operational accounting, and beyond. If you're the type who asks, "how does that connect to the rest of the business?" instead of just filing the report and moving on, you'll fit right in here.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare monthly reports covering receivables, payables, inventory, and sales
  • Perform account reconciliations and help resolve discrepancies
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes across multiple locations
  • Partner with team members across AR, AP, and inventory to understand how the pieces fit together
  • Take on new areas of the accounting function as your skills grow - this role is built to expand with you

Experience, Education, Knowledge, Skills and other Requirements

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
  • Solid Excel skills - or a genuine willingness to build them fast
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort working with numbers that need to tie out
  • Clear communication skills - you'll need to explain what the numbers mean to people outside the accounting department, not just report them
  • Curiosity. We'd rather hire someone eager to learn every part of the department than someone who wants to master one task and stop
  • Experience in agricultural equipment, dealership, or multi-location accounting is a plus, but not required
  • Familiarity with AI tools (like Claude or ChatGPT) is a bonus - we're actively building them into our workflows

Commitments:

  • Service Oriented - Our success revolves around customer service; we value service always as a priority.
  • Honesty & Integrity -We value honesty and integrity in every interaction whether it is with a customer or a coworker, no matter what.
  • Committed & Passionate - We are committed to our customers and the job they have to do. We are
  • passionate in helping our customers achieve their goals
  • Communication - We strive to communicate to the best of our ability with customers, co-workers, manufacturers, and other stakeholders.
  • Family - We believe in family values including hard work, family time, and education. We treat everyone as if they are family.
  • Pride and Confidence - We are proud and confident in what we do and who we do it for.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Parallel Ag offers a generous compensation package
  • 401k retirement plan with company match
  • Health, Dental, Vision and Life insurance
  • Vacation and sick time off
  • Advanced training programs
  • Day shift, with a safe work environment
  • Parallel Ag is an Equal Opportunity Employer

Why Parallel Ag

  • Real exposure to multi-location accounting - not just one location, forever
  • A department that's actively investing in modern tools, including AI-assisted workflows, to cut down

on busy work

  • Room to grow: this role is a launching pad, not a landing spot

Physical Demands:

This is primarily a sedentary position requiring extended periods at a desk. Occasional walking, standing, or light lifting may be required. Ergonomic practices and regular breaks are encouraged. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Position Type:

This is a full-time role with a standard work schedule, to be determined and discussed upon hire.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment with occasional visits to dealership locations or yard
  • May require extended hours during month-end or audit periods
  • Collaboration across multiple departments (sales, service, admin)

Additional Notes:

  • This job description is not exhaustive and may be revised as company needs evolve.
