Job description

Contract Lumber is seeking to hire an Operations Manager for our location in Lebanon, Ohio. This is a key position within our organization with responsibilities including inventory management, and overseeing logistics and safety.

- Manage day-to-day operations of a lumber yard, primarily inventory, logistics and safety management.

- Ensure inventory is received, stored and delivered efficiently and accurately. This is accomplished by following and creating effective operational processes for the movement of inventory.

- Coach, train, and develop operations associates through both informal (verbal) and formal job performance evaluations.

- Manage all facility maintenance and provide recommendations for improvements and investment as needed.

- Assist GM with evaluating the effectiveness of and recommending alternatives for work methods, procedures, controls and staffing to achieve accurate and efficient handling and delivery of material.

- Ensure a culture of safety throughout the facility by following Contract Lumber safety policies and procedures - monitor safety, physical security and operational metrics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

Required qualifications:

- Minimum three years experience in a similar position with a proven successful track record.

- Able to lead and motivate a team of operations associates.

- Experience in building materials supply industry, or otherwise proven working knowledge of lumber and building materials.

- Experience managing commercial vehicles (delivery trucks) and material handling equipment (eg. forklift trucks)

- Minimum 2 years college is preferred but not required.

- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel software applications.
