Job description

We are seeking an Aerospace Operational Excellence Engineer to support PPG's Aerospace Business. This role partners with cross-functional teams to align performance goals with business strategy, implement proven CI methodologies, and deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, quality, and engagement. Through both strategic focus and hands-on involvement, this position plays a key role in embedding a culture of operational excellence across the organization. This is an onsite position located in Sylmar, California.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and deploy CI development plans and set goals responsibilities.

  • Define, maintain and align KPI targets with site business strategy.

  • Work with leaders, engineers, and operators to coach/mentor CI methodologies. Ensure the instruction and use of key best practices (e.g., LSS, kaizen, DMAIC, GB/YB, 5S, value stream mapping).

  • Aid Operators to drive improvement in manufacturing efficiencies using best practice CI tools/techniques.

  • Align with Quality Assurance to deliver robust and cost-effective end-to-end processes.

  • Hands-on involvement in the job to promote engagement through all levels.

  • Assure the site adopts and embed the defined best practices as defined within the framework.

  • Analyze Strategic Goals to establish potential projects that contribute to tangible results across multiple value streams

  • Support the facilities in culture change, main goals, and engagement through continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications

  • Only US Citizens, Green card holders, political asylees, or refugees are eligible to apply

  • 5 years+ proven experience with LSS/Continuous Improvement experience required

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, supply chain, or related field preferred

  • Manufacturing experience preferred

  • Strong knowledge of Lean Six Sigma

  • BlackBelt certified is preferred

The base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $130,000, with a possibility of an annual bonus up to 10% of base salary.
