Job description

Your leadership, business acumen, and ability to drive execution make you a great fit for our Zone Operations Sales Director position. Join our dynamic team as a Zone Operations Sales Director and be a key leader responsible for driving sales performance, merchandising execution, and operational consistency across a multi-state zone. In this role, you will partner closely with the Zone Vice President and Regional Directors to execute strategic initiatives, optimize store performance, and deliver exceptional results across a large portfolio of stores.

About Your Role

As a Zone Operations Sales Director, you will serve as a strategic field leader responsible for ensuring the successful execution of sales, merchandising, operational, and capital initiatives throughout your assigned zone. You will leverage data and analytics to identify opportunities, improve performance, and drive consistent execution of company programs that support sales growth, profitability, and operational excellence.

Principal Duties & ResponsibilitiesSales & Financial Performance
  • Partner with the Zone Vice President to develop and execute strategies that drive top-line sales, comparable store sales growth, and overall financial performance across the zone.
  • Analyze sales, profit, shrink, and operational performance metrics to identify opportunities and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor and evaluate zone financial, sales, shrink, and operational resource plans to meet or exceed performance objectives.
  • Drive discretionary, seasonal, and third-party vendor sales initiatives to achieve company performance goals.
  • Support Regional Directors and District Managers in delivering strong sales and operational results.
Merchandising & Store Execution
  • Ensure consistent execution of all merchandising plans, programs, display standards, seasonal initiatives, special events, and promotional activities throughout the zone.
  • Drive effective implementation of merchandise strategies to maximize sales, customer engagement, and profitability.
  • Partner with Merchandising leadership to communicate field insights, identify sales opportunities, and share successful execution practices.
  • Monitor overall merchandise presentation and execution standards to ensure a consistent customer experience across all stores.
New Stores, Remodels & Strategic Initiatives
  • Lead zone execution for new store openings, relocations, renovations, remodels, and special merchandising initiatives.
  • Drive sales and operational performance of new and transformed locations to ensure successful market entry and return on investment.
  • Oversee capital expenditure initiatives within the zone, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with company objectives.
  • Support enterprise-wide initiatives and change management efforts to improve operational effectiveness and drive business results.
Leadership & Talent Development
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to Regional Directors and District Managers in partnership with the Zone Vice President.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement throughout the zone.
  • Identify, develop, and retain high-performing leaders while building a strong succession pipeline.
  • Promote consistent communication and alignment of company priorities across all levels of field leadership.
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
  • Identify opportunities to improve merchandising, sales, and operational efficiencies across the zone.
  • Develop and implement best practices that enhance execution, productivity, and customer experience.
  • Utilize data, reporting, and field feedback to drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure operational programs and company initiatives are executed consistently and effectively throughout the zone.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive retail leadership experience with multi-unit responsibility.
  • Experience leading leaders, including oversight of teams responsible for multiple store locations.
  • Demonstrated success driving sales growth, merchandising execution, operational excellence, and financial performance in a large retail environment.
  • Strong financial and business acumen with the ability to interpret operating statements, performance metrics, budgets, and inventory data.
  • Proven ability to build, develop, motivate, and retain high-performing teams.
  • Experience managing large-scale initiatives, including store openings, remodels, and capital projects.

Travel Requirements
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to travel extensively, including overnight travel, up to 60%.

Start Rate =$130,000-$180,000based on experience plus25% bonusandequity.
