Operational Leadership
โ€ข Provide temporary management oversight of residential programs during vacancies, leaves of absence, and other staffing transitions.
โ€ข Maintain operational continuity and regulatory compliance within assigned programs.
โ€ข Assess program performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
โ€ข Assist Residential Coordinators and Assistant Directors in resolving operational challenges.
โ€ข Support implementation of agency initiatives, policies, and best practices.
Program Start-Up and Transition Support
โ€ข Assist with the development and opening of new residential programs.
โ€ข Coordinate pre-opening activities including staffing, training, regulatory readiness, documentation systems, and environmental preparation.
โ€ข Ensure new programs meet agency, DDS, licensing, and certification requirements.
โ€ข Support transitions of individuals into new residential settings.
Training and Staff Development
โ€ข Provide coaching and mentoring to Residential Coordinators, Shift Coordinators, and Direct Support Professionals.
โ€ข Facilitate orientation and ongoing training programs.
โ€ข Support leadership development among supervisory staff.
โ€ข Assist in developing corrective action plans and performance improvement strategies.
โ€ข Promote consistency in management practices throughout the residential division.
Staffing and Scheduling Support
โ€ข Assist with staffing stabilization efforts across residential programs.
โ€ข Support management teams in developing and maintaining effective staffing schedules.
โ€ข Monitor staffing patterns and recommend solutions to staffing challenges.
โ€ข Assist with recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and retention initiatives.
โ€ข Support efforts to reduce overtime and maintain staffing efficiency.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
โ€ข Assist programs in maintaining compliance with DDS, Mass Ability, licensing, certification, and agency standards.
โ€ข Conduct program reviews and audits to identify compliance concerns and quality improvement opportunities.
โ€ข Assist in preparing programs for Survey and Certification reviews.
โ€ข Monitor implementation of corrective action plans.
โ€ข Support incident management, investigations, and follow-up activities as assigned.
Communication and Collaboration
โ€ข Maintain effective communication with Residential Directors, Coordinators and all ancillary departments.
โ€ข Participate in leadership meetings, committees, and special projects.
โ€ข Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and person-centered service delivery.
On-Call Responsibilities
โ€ข Participate in the agency's management on-call rotation.
โ€ข Provide guidance and support during emergencies, staffing crises, and critical incidents.
โ€ข Respond to urgent operational needs as required.
Other Duties
โ€ข Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Residential Director.
โ€ข Must obtain and keep current PABC, MAP and other training that support the needs of the program.
Recommended Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
โ€ข Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
โ€ข Minimum of five years of progressive experience in residential human services.
โ€ข Minimum of three years of supervisory or management experience.
โ€ข Experience with DDS regulations, Survey & Certification requirements, MAP regulations, and person-centered service delivery.
โ€ข Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage change, coach staff, and resolve operational challenges.
Preferred Skills
โ€ข Strong organizational and project management abilities.
โ€ข Experience opening new residential programs or supporting organizational growth initiatives.
โ€ข Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and rapidly changing operational needs
โ€ข Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
