Service Operations Data Analyst Intern

Kirkland, WA

The Service Operations Data Analyst Intern will be assigned to a functional Team Manager and an internship mentor or co-mentors. Work performed will be hands on, may contribute to a project as a whole, but does not directly impact the outcome. At the conclusion of the internship, the intern will have a clear understanding of how their studies directly contribute to their course of study and/or the medical device industry. This is a part-time summer internship position, working with the Service Operations and Returns Department at Kestra.

Essential Duties
  • Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and recurring performance summaries for Technical Support and Product Returns.
  • Analyze operational workflows to identify trends, bottlenecks, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support end-to-end Returns funnel analysis from end of journey through completed return processing.
  • Evaluate return performance by contact path, source, patient status, outreach method, and case outcome.
  • Partner with operational leaders and team members to validate data, reporting logic, and workflow assumptions.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly insights that clearly communicate performance, risks, and recommended actions.
  • Document reporting definitions, data sources, assumptions, and repeatable processes.

Qualifications Education/Experience Required:
  • Be currently enrolled at an accredited university pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Operations Management, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, charts, and data organization.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with data accurately.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, Salesforce reports/dashboards, or similar reporting tools.
  • Experience with data visualization, dashboard creation, or recurring operational reporting.
  • Ability to translate data into clear insights, risks, and recommended actions.
  • Interest in healthcare, medical technology, service operations, contact centers, logistics, or process improvement a major plus.
Work Environment

Internship Eligibility
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within the past 6 months
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment with Kestra Medical Technologies
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must complete a criminal and employment background screening that meets the allowable FDA requirements and is in accordance with EEOC rules and regulations
  • Must complete a pre-internship drug screen
Physical Demands
  • Frequent repetitive motions that may include wrists, hands and/or fingers, such as keyboard and mouse usage
  • Frequent stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time
  • Frequent computers use
  • Frequent phone and other business machine use
  • Occasional lifting up to 20 pounds
Travel
  • Occasional travel, domestic and international, may be required, less than 10%
