Job description

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Operating Room
Location: Hobbs, NM
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Days | 5x8-Hour Shifts
Compensation: Up to $2,600 Weekly (Based on Experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced acute care environment. The RN will be responsible for supporting surgical procedures, maintaining patient safety, ensuring adherence to sterile techniques, and collaborating with multidisciplinary surgical teams to deliver high-quality patient care.
This position requires strong operating room experience, the ability to circulate independently, and flexibility to participate in an on-call rotation.
Responsibilities
Perioperative Patient Care
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients throughout the perioperative process.
  • Perform pre-operative assessments and ensure patient readiness for surgery.
  • Monitor patients throughout surgical procedures and advocate for patient safety.
  • Assist with patient positioning, preparation, and transfer according to established protocols.
Operating Room Support
  • Function as a circulating nurse during surgical procedures.
  • Maintain sterile technique and ensure compliance with infection prevention standards.
  • Coordinate surgical supplies, equipment, and instrumentation needed for procedures.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
Clinical Documentation & Compliance
  • Accurately document patient care, procedures, and outcomes within the electronic medical record.
  • Adhere to organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and operating room standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Emergency & On-Call Responsibilities
  • Respond to urgent and emergent surgical cases as required.
  • Participate in the established on-call rotation schedule.
  • Maintain readiness to support after-hours surgical procedures.
Required Qualifications
Education
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN).
Licensure & Certifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License.
  • Current BLS Certification (preferred).
  • Additional perioperative certifications preferred.
Experience
  • Previous Operating Room nursing experience required.
  • Prior travel nursing experience required.
  • Strong circulating nurse experience required.
  • Experience in the following specialties:
    • Orthopedic Surgery
    • General Surgery
    • Gynecology
    • Podiatry
  • Thorough knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile technique, and perioperative nursing practices.
Schedule & Additional Information
  • Shift: Days, 5x8-hour schedule.
  • No routine weekend shifts scheduled.
  • On-call required:
    • 1-2 weekdays per week.
    • 1-2 weekends per month.
  • No block scheduling available.
  • Float Requirement: None.
  • Patient Ratio: 1:1.
  • Overtime not approved.
