  • Strong physician, payor, referral, and community relationships
Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership

  • Identify and lead opportunities for market growth, service-line expansion, new program development, and strategic partnerships.
  • Translate system-level objectives into measurable market and hospital initiatives.
  • Drive greater operational integration and consistency across the three Houston‑area hospitals.
  • Partner with executive leadership to advance patient experience, innovation, clinical excellence, and organizational culture.
  • Evaluate market trends and emerging opportunities that may influence future growth and service delivery.
Hospital & Market Operations
  • Provide executive oversight of hospital operations across Houston, Shenandoah, and The Woodlands.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability for market and hospital leadership.
  • Ensure each campus achieves established operational, clinical, quality, and patient‑care objectives.
  • Develop and monitor market‑level KPIs and operating metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas requiring corrective action.
  • Drive continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and standardization across facilities.
  • Ensure appropriate infrastructure and resources are in place to support safe, effective, and sustainable operations.
  • Maintain executive accountability for the financial performance of the Houston Market.
  • Lead the development and management of operating and capital budgets across all three hospitals.
  • Monitor revenue, expenses, labor, productivity, census, profitability, and other key financial indicators.
  • Implement corrective strategies when performance falls below established targets.
  • Partner with finance and revenue cycle leadership to optimize financial performance, reimbursement, resource allocation, and cost management.
  • Evaluate the financial and operational impact of new programs, contracts, capital investments, and strategic partnerships.
  • Balance financial stewardship with the delivery of high‑quality patient care.
Quality, Safety & Regulatory Excellence
  • Ensure all hospitals maintain compliance with applicable regulatory, accreditation, licensing, and patient‑safety requirements.
  • Partner with clinical and quality leadership to strengthen patient outcomes and organizational performance.
  • Promote a culture in which patient safety, clinical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement are shared priorities.
  • Ensure market leadership remains prepared for regulatory surveys, accreditation reviews, and other external assessments.
  • Lead, mentor, develop, and hold accountable hospital and market‑level leaders.
  • Build a high‑performing leadership team capable of executing the market's strategic and operational priorities.
  • Foster collaboration between hospital operations, nursing, medical staff, behavioral health, therapy, admissions, finance, quality, and corporate leadership.
  • Champion employee engagement, retention, succession planning, and leadership development.
  • Maintain strong communication and visibility throughout all three campuses.
  • Promote a mission‑driven culture consistent with Nexus Health Systems' values and standards.

  • Serve as a senior representative of Nexus Health Systems throughout the Greater Houston healthcare community.
  • Develop strong relationships with physicians, health systems, payors, referral partners, educational institutions, community organizations, and other key stakeholders.
  • Identify strategic partnerships that expand access, strengthen referral relationships, and support market growth.
  • Support patient and family engagement through executive visibility, communication, and advocacy.
  • Strengthen Nexus Health Systems' position as a leader in specialized medical and behavioral healthcare.
What We're Looking For Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience.
  • At least 5 years of executive leadership or multi‑site management experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex hospital or health‑system operations.
  • Significant experience with hospital financial management and P&L accountability.
  • Proven ability to lead senior‑level teams and drive performance across multiple departments, facilities, or service lines.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare operations, quality, regulatory compliance, financial management, and strategic planning.
  • Exceptional executive communication, decision‑making, relationship‑building, and problem‑solving capabilities.
