Job description

CERTEX USA is seeking an experienced and dynamic Buyer to join our team! This role is an in-office position based in Phoenix, AZ.
Position Overview
The Buyer will be responsible for purchases materials, supplies and services at the most favorable terms for the organization. This role qualifies vendors, evaluates bids, and negotiates prices and terms and ensures the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods. The Buyer will also track purchases, monitors vendor quality, and maintains database of vendor information to ensure smooth procurement operations.
Key Responsibilities/Essential Duties
• Purchase materials, supplies, and services required by the organization, ensuring they are acquired at the best possible prices and terms.
• Qualify potential vendors and evaluate bids, negotiating prices and terms for purchased goods and services.
• Develop and maintain relationships with existing vendors while seeking new sources of supply as needed.
• Track and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery and proper documentation, including monitoring quality and receiving issues.
• Monitor vendor performance and quality, resolving any issues or discrepancies that arise.
• Generate and process replenishment orders based on demand forecasts, minimum/maximum stock levels, and lead times.
• Coordinate with purchasing, suppliers, and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery of replenished inventory.
• Monitor inventory levels and consumption trends to determine replenishment needs.
• Maintain an updated database of vendor information, including contact details, pricing, terms, and performance evaluations.
• Maintain and update product information as applicable, including but not limited to discontinuation/recalls.
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure materials and services are purchased in alignment with organizational needs and timelines.
• Perform other related tasks and duties as assigned.

• Excellent time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

Working Conditions, Hours, Travel
• Most work is performed in an office/warehouse environment. This role routinely uses standard
office equipment, such as computers, phones, copiers, and filing cabinets.
• This is a full-time position. The standard hours of work are Monday through Friday, 40 hours
per week.
• Travel to visit customers within in region as well as occasional travel for meetings or training
outside the region is expected for this position

• Regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.
• Must be able to lift up to 15lbs.
• Requires the visual ability to perform detailed work at close distances (computer screens, accounting ledgers, using measurement devices).
