Machine Operator Assistant

Department: Pouch, Slitter, Press, Laminator

Job Summary: Poly Print is seeking Machine Operator Assistants for the following departments: Laminator, Pouch, Slitter, and Press. Set up and operate the machines to produce finished products meeting customer specifications.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: Entry Level Position:

  • Job training provided!
  • Preferred experience in Flexible Packaging and/or Manufacturing

Requirements:

Requirements:

  • Must obey all company policies, procedures and be a team player.
  • Able to read a tape measure.
  • Able to lift between 50 to 75 lbs. minimum.
  • Must be able to walk, squat, crouch, turn, twist, stretch, climb steps, grab, pull, push, and bend throughout an 8-to-12-hour shift.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing machines and tools preferred.
  • Preferred knowledge of pouch, slitter, press or laminator machines, production processes, quality control, and raw materials.

Duties:

  • Pushes buttons, turns handles, moves controls or levers to start the pouch machine or manually controls equipment operation.
  • PALLETIZING, LABELING AND STACKING ROLLS TO KEEP THE OPERATOR RUNNING
  • Moving product to the staging area.
  • Turns, pushes, or moves controls to set and adjust speed, position, and pressure tolerances of slitter.
  • Perform special assignments- pushing buttons, turning handles, moving controls or levers to start the printing machine or manually controlling equipment (regards to speed, temperature, inflow and position/pressure tolerances of press).
  • Loads, positions, and adjusts films on unwind shafts.
  • Review work order to determine finished bag dimensions, seal type and any special additions such as zippers or gussets.
  • Dismantles and reassembles units or parts to clean, repair, maintain or adjust the machine.
  • Installing printing cylinder or sleeves in machine according to specification
  • Cleans and lubricates machine and components, using approved oils, brushes, rags, and hoses.
