Job description

The Senior Vice President (SVP), House Building Alberta, serves as a strategic leader responsible for Anthem's house building business across Calgary and Edmonton, leading day-to-day operations through a common Alberta-wide functional structure. The SVP translates the approved strategy and annual business plan into operating priorities and results, owns sales, product, and production integration, and holds end-to-end accountability for the homeowner experience, quality, and safety. The SVP leads a team of highly experienced functional leaders across our matrixed organization and partners closely with the President to shape and deliver the Alberta business plan.

You will

  • Lead by example in complex operating and commercial decisions, demonstrating integrity and strategic thinking
  • Thrive in a highly matrixed organization and partner with cross-functional (geographically dispersed) teams synergistically
  • Lead, coach and hold a team of senior functional leaders accountable for objectives, performance, development and results
  • Translate Anthem's strategy and annual business plan into clear operating priorities, accountabilities and results
  • Mentor your leadership team, address capability gaps, recruit selectively, retain key talent, and foster a candid, collaborative, high-accountability culture; require functional leaders to maintain succession and development plans and intervene where critical gaps exist
  • Lead a disciplined operating cadence, driving reliable forecasting, clear decision rights and consistent execution
  • Hold end-to-end accountability for the homeowner experience, quality, safety and compliance across the Alberta business
  • Act as a steward of Anthem's culture, cultivating a collaborative, diverse and inclusive team environment, in the spirit of The Anthem Way


You have

  • 15+ years of progressive home house building or real estate operations leadership experience
  • A track record leading and developing senior, multi-disciplinary leadership teams
  • Deep understanding of house building operations, including sales, product, construction/production and customer experience
  • Experience partnering with finance and accounting leadership on planning, forecasting and performance reporting
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills, with experience reporting to and partnering with senior executive leadership
