Job description

ASSISTANT OPERATOR

$17.84/hr., Full-time, Monday thru Friday with overtime required when necessary, including some weekends.

This is a hourly position with growth potential! You will be responsible for all activities associated with assisting to operate production machines. This includes setup, operation, clean-up, quality checks and recommending improvements to operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Strong desire to learn and grow in a state-of-the-art, fast-paced environment
  • 6 consecutive months experience in some type of manufacturing operation, preferred.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Will be responsible for assisting the operation the machinery at maximum capacity and speed. Work diligently to improve set up times and downtime daily. Identify and address mechanical concerns and report to supervisor.
  • Work at a fast-pace set by the machine operator in order to adhere to production schedule.
  • Continue to learn operation of the machine, downtime, setup times and quality of product.
  • Assist with completing necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner
  • In accordance with proper techniques, assist in the set-up slotting, feed, and die cut sections on machine accurately.
  • Monitor board quality for any defects and make adjustments when necessary.
  • Willingness to move up the line of progression and cross-train on other machines.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintain good housekeeping.

Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
The individual must have a working knowledge of the following:

  • Equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.
  • Product layouts and production specifications
  • Product quality specifications

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
May be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.

Personal growth - while the company will provide the tools to assist the employee to grow professionally the responsibility for moving forward lies with the individual. Each year there will be goals developed and agreed to by the employee and his/her superior.
