Chantilly, VA, United States Tagged: Python, Java Open Systems Technologies Corporation is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to work on a large IT project supporting the intelligence community. The ideal candidate is a hands-on Software Engineer and/or DevOps professional with significant experience in developing repeatable processes, tools, and infrastructure that enable the delivery of software in an on-demand cadence. They must have strong, firsthand technical expertise in a variety of configuration automation, deployment, and continuous integration technologies and the proven ability to fashion robust solutions that can keep pace with software development. They must be at ease working in an agile environment with little supervision. This person should embody a passion for continuous improvement and innovation. JOB DESCRIPTION The Software Engineer will design, develop, code, test, and debug complex software products, or make significant enhancements to existing software. The ideal candidate is a hands-on platform builder with significant experience in developing scalable software applications, with experience in analytics using large data sets. They must have strong, firsthand technical expertise in a variety of configuration management and big data technologies and the proven ability to fashion robust solutions that can manage large data sets. They must be at ease working in an agile environment with little supervision. This person should embody a passion for continuous improvement and innovation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES โ€ขWork with a team to analyze existing software applications and tools, and recommend new technologies and methodologies to improve system performance and usability. โ€ขDesign, develop, test, debug, and deploy new software tools that extend or replace existing capabilities. โ€ขAdvise hardware engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems, such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements and works with them to resolve incompatibilities. โ€ขWrite and update technical documentation such as user manuals, system documentation, training materials, processes and procedures. โ€ขCollaborate cross-functionally with data scientists, analysts, project managers and other engineers and analysts. โ€ขProvide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements in existing systems and platforms. โ€ขTroubleshoots complex problems and provides customer support for software systems and application issues. โ€ขProvide recommendations for continuous improvement. โ€ขWork alongside other engineers on the team to sustain and advance our organizationโ€™s capabilities. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE โ€ขBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, and work/military experience. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS โ€ขDemonstrated hands-on experience with modern programming languages including Java, JavaScript, and Python. โ€ขDemonstrated hands-on experience developing with cloud-based services such as AWS. โ€ขDemonstrated hands-on experience with developing and implementing microservices architecture using Spring Boot. โ€ขDemonstrated hands-on experience with Linux. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS โ€ขDemonstrated hands-on experience in programming and software development with web and client/server applications using Java, JavaScript, and Python. โ€ขDemonstrated hands on experience working with PostgreSQL and Apache NiFi. โ€ขDemonstrated hands-on experience with Linux-based systems and shell scripting โ€ขDemonstrated hands-on experience with build automation technologies like Maven, Jenkins, etc. BENEFITS Our company OST has been operating since 1996 and have various contracts with Government agencies.
