Job Title: Coding Integrity Specialist III - RemoteJob Summary:

As a Coding Integrity Specialist III, you will play a crucial role in the healthcare system by reviewing and evaluating hospital inpatient medical record documentation. Your responsibilities include assigning, sequencing, editing, and validating the appropriate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes. Operating across multiple entities, you will apply coding guidelines and criteria for accurate code selections. This role also involves maintaining or exceeding established accuracy and productivity standards while utilizing complete patient medical records.

Job Qualifications:
  • Assign, sequence, validate, and edit codes/DRGs and abstracted data for inpatient records across multiple facilities using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS.
  • Maintain or exceed established accuracy and productivity standards.
  • Utilize complete patient medical record documentation in code/DRG assignment, validation, and editing of codes/DRGs.
  • Undergraduate degree (Associate's or Bachelor's) in HIM/HIT preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of acute care hospital inpatient coding required; 3 years preferred.
  • Coding Technical Skills: Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, MS-DRGs, APR DRGs, and POA Assignment.
  • RHIT, RHIA, or CCS certification required.
  • Must be disciplined and meet performance metrics.
  • Candidates residing in CA and Colorado will not be considered due to WFH and vaccine mandate.
  • Experience in coding quality edits and handling customer complaints related to potential coding errors.
  • Auditing experience is required.
  • Candidates with three years of inpatient DRG coding experience for acute care, covering all account types including burns and cardiac catheterizations, are preferred.
