Job description

Join the Open Arms & Franciscan Care Solutions Team!
Open Arms & Franciscan Care Solutions (FCS) is seeking a compassionate, dependable caregiver to provide one-on-one care for a senior couple in our senior community in Wheeling, IL. This long-term opportunity is ideal for caregivers who are passionate about helping seniors remain safe, comfortable, and independent while building meaningful relationships.
Schedule
  • Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Overnight Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
  • 12-hour shifts
  • Long-term assignment

Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate, one-on-one care for a senior couple.
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene.
  • Safely assist with one-person transfers using a gait belt.
  • Support mobility and implement fall prevention techniques.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support.
  • Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed.
  • Perform light housekeeping to maintain a clean and comfortable living environment.
  • Observe and report changes in the clients' condition.
  • Follow individualized care plans while promoting each client's dignity and independence.

Requirements
  • At least 1 year of professional caregiving experience preferred.
  • Experience assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs).
  • Comfortable performing one-person transfers using a gait belt.
  • Experience with mobility assistance and fall prevention.
  • Dementia or memory care experience is a plus.
  • Ability to prepare meals and perform light housekeeping.
  • Compassionate, dependable, patient, and professional.
  • Must be able to reliably commute to Wheeling, IL for scheduled shifts.
  • Ability to maintain a consistent and dependable work schedule.
  • Reliable transportation preferred.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
