Operations Engineer Co-Op/Intern - Summer 2027

Where will you work: New Wales Manufacturing Facility at 3095 Highway 640 Mulberry, FL 33860. Housing and relocation can be provided for qualified candidates.

An Operations Engineer Co-Op/Intern at Mosaic will be assigned to provide technical support primarily to plant operations groups in projects that will focus on improving facility efficiency and final product quality. Full time Co-Op/Internship. Typically, 36-40 hoursa week.

In person. 9/80 schedule if applicable.

What you'll do:

  • Provide support to operations group including plant optimization, troubleshooting, efficiency improvement, problem solving, and problem prevention.

  • Assist with data monitoring and statistical analysis to improve product quality and plant performance.

  • Support current business initiatives. Typical initiatives include specific problem-solving projects or improvement activities involving multiple sites.

  • Be vigilant of issues and conditions that can affect their fellow workers

  • Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, lab personnel, and contractors.

  • Collaborate with Process Engineers and Reliability Engineer groups to ensure alignment. Examples Include: Conduct filter dilution testing and support sample standardization to ensure accurate and reliable process data; Assist with sluice water pump sizing and system evaluation to improve performance and efficiency; Contribute to the design and development of flow metering solutions for the cake blower system

  • Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), tradespersons, and contractors.

  • Participation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment.

  • Adhering to Mosaic's mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies.

What you'll need:

  • Sophomore level or above by May 2027 pursuing a bachelor's in Chemical Engineering.

  • 2.75 GPA or higher

  • Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment.

  • 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, orworkis preferred.

  • Previousinternship or co-op experience is preferred.

  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.

  • Ability to work full timeand be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship

  • Selected candidates willbe requiredto successfully completepost-offer/pre-placementdrug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination.

  • Basic computer skills are required

  • Experience working in a team environment is a must

  • Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable

  • Effective verbal communication skills is a plus

  • Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments
