Are you looking to make an impact on the physical, emotional and cultural needs of patients and their families? Join our team as a Nursing Station Technician at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, West Bank!

At University of Minnesota Medical Center - West Bank we are committed to delivering exceptional healthcare in a setting where we specialize in innovation. Our partnership with the University of Minnesota Medical School and University of Minnesota Physicians provides the platform to specialize in breakthrough treatments, surgical techniques, lifesaving therapies and to train tomorrow's physicians. Clinical trials advance our clinical services, bringing the very newest ideas in patient care!

This position will be working 64 hours every two weeks on the rotating day/evening shift, 8 hour shifts, weekends as needed.

The PACU Nursing Station Technician is responsible for assisting the nurse in the delivery of adult and pediatric care for patients before and after surgery. Other job duties include:

  • Providing assistance to patients, visitors and providers, answering the telephone, prepping patient charts and maintaining the patient care unit main desk area
  • Transporting patients and/or equipment
  • Setting up, cleaning and maintaining patient rooms, cleaning equipment
  • Ordering and stocking of supplies
Required

License/Certification/Registration

  • Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required. Ontrack participants are required to obtain Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification upon completion of the OnTrack program
AND ONE or more of the following:

Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview sponsored Nursing Assistant program.

OR

Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting. (Appropriate roles may include, Nursing Assistant, PCA, Resident Assistant or Emergency Room Technician)

OR

Current enrollment in an LPN, RN or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program

OR

Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire. This requirement does not need to be maintained throughout employment and is not required if subsequently transferring into another Nursing Assistant or Nursing Station Tech or Nursing Station Attendant position

An individual's pay rate within this range may be influenced by various factors, including FTE, skills, knowledge, educational background, and qualifying experience as specified in the contract.
