Onsite Training information

What is an onsite training?

An Onsite Training job involves delivering training sessions at a company's location to educate employees on specific skills, policies, or technologies. Trainers assess the needs of the organization, develop customized learning materials, and provide hands-on instruction. This role may include conducting workshops, seminars, or one-on-one sessions to enhance employee productivity and competence.

What are the typical daily responsibilities of someone working in onsite training?

Professionals in Onsite Training spend their days planning, coordinating, and delivering training sessions directly at client or company locations. This often involves customizing training materials to suit the audience, setting up equipment, conducting interactive workshops, and assessing participant progress through evaluations or hands-on activities. Teamwork and collaboration with department leaders, HR, or subject matter experts are common to ensure training aligns with organizational needs. Trainers may also provide follow-up support or coaching after sessions to reinforce learning and address questions. These responsibilities require strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt quickly to different learners and environments.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the onsite training position, and why are they important?

To excel in an Onsite Training role, you need a strong background in instructional design, subject matter expertise, and experience in delivering effective in-person training sessions. Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS), presentation software like PowerPoint, and certifications such as Certified Professional in Training Management (CPTM) or similar are often preferred. Exceptional communication, organization, and adaptability make an individual stand out when tailoring content and engaging diverse audiences. These skills ensure training programs are delivered efficiently, meet learning objectives, and support workforce development goals.

Job description

The 0.8 FTE outpatient pharmacist position supports the retail pharmacy operations at our Logansport and the soon-to-come West Lafayette locations. This unique role combines direct patient care, operational oversight, and involvement in the supporting of strategic pharmacy initiatives at our geographically more distant retail pharmacies. This position is ideal for a pharmacist who enjoys balancing patient care responsibilities with ownership of operational initiatives and opportunities to contribute to the growth and success of a dynamic outpatient pharmacy program and services.

Training & Onboarding

  • Training for this role will include system and departmental orientation, Epic training, Parkview Health retail pharmacy operations, and exposure to outpatient pharmacy programs and initiatives.

  • The selected candidate will complete approximately four days per week of onsite training in the Fort Wayne market for three weeks. Additional market-specific training will be approximately four days per week for one to two weeks in Logansport, based on individual training needs.

  • Upon completion of training, the pharmacist will transition into a permanent role supporting the West Lafayette and Logansport outpatient pharmacy locations.

Primary Responsibilities Operational Pharmacy Services (~75%)

  • Serve as the primary pharmacist resource for the Logansport and West Lafayette retail pharmacy locations.

  • Provide safe, accurate, and efficient medication dispensing services.

  • Support daily pharmacy operations, workflow optimization, and service excellence.

  • Scheduling coordination, operational communication, and issue resolution.

  • Collaborate with pharmacy leadership and staff to maintain compliance, quality, and patient satisfaction.

  • Serve as a key point of contact for pharmacy personnel and operational concerns.

Pharmacy Projects & Program Support (~25%)

  • Partner with pharmacy leadership to support departmental projects, goals, and initiatives.

  • Assist with implementation and optimization of outpatient pharmacy services.

  • Support workflow development, staff education, and process improvement efforts.

  • Participate in new program launches and operational expansion initiatives.

  • Contribute to project management activities and cross-functional collaboration across outpatient pharmacy services.

Qualifications

  • Current active pharmacist license required; Indiana pharmacist license preferred.

  • Minimum of three years of pharmacist experience, preferably in a community, retail, outpatient, or ambulatory pharmacy setting.

  • Strong communication, organizational, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and patience when caring for patients and supporting their healthcare needs.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
