Job description

Position Summary
We're seeking an Online Community Manager to advance Teach For All's 25-year vision by growing the AI Literacy & Creator Collective (AI LCC), a rapidly expanding global community of 63 countries and thousands of pioneering educators. You'll foster meaningful peer-to-peer learning experiences across social platforms including WhatsApp, connecting educators across cultures, languages, and time zones. We're looking for a self-starter who's genuinely interested in the AI ecosystem and shares our commitment to responsible AI adoption in education.
About the Team
The Global Partnerships and Resources team fosters partnerships and resources in priority areas that enable our network to learn from and contribute to the global education community in order to catalyze progress towards our vision. Our Initiatives sub-team focuses on Climate Education, Education in Emergency Contexts, AI and Educational Technology, Foundational Learning, Future of Work (including STEAM, career readiness and financial literacy), Girls Education, Inclusive Education and Student Voice. Our Subgrants Programs sub-team enables global donors to support our network partners and manages the processes to facilitate a strong trust-based grantmaking program and meet donor requirements.
This role sits on the AI and Educational Technology Initiative Team, reporting to the Global Head of AI and Educational Technology. You will be at the forefront of shaping the future of AI in education from the ground up. Our team operates on the belief that true transformation happens through grassroots community and collective leadership. We are a mission-driven group focused on shifting educators from dependency to agency, fostering a social learning ecosystem where self-organizing collectives can emerge and thrive across diverse cultures, languages, and time zones.
Key Responsibilities:
Community Facilitation & Growth
  • Build Peer-to-Peer Learning: Design and moderate structured "learning circles" within the community where educators can share AI prompts, lesson plans, and case studies across different languages and contexts.
  • Identify & Support Power-Users: Spot emerging leaders within the WhatsApp/Telegram groups and provide them with the tools and "social capital" to lead their own sub-chapters or specialized interest groups.
  • Expand Our Community: Guide the growth and evolution of community spaces from WhatsApp into more robust platforms (like Discord or a custom Teach For All platform) while keeping engagement high and maintaining the community's welcoming culture.
  • Cultural & Linguistic Bridge-Building: Foster an inclusive global community by ensuring content and discussions are accessible and welcoming to educators across all time zones, languages, and regions, actively building bridges across cultures.

AI Integration & Innovation
  • Experiment with AI Tools: Experiment with and implement AI-driven tools (including the creation and use of GEMS and/or artifacts) ) to help summarize high-volume chat threads, translate discussions in real-time, or provide instant resources to community members.
  • Share Community Feedback: Aggregate community insights and "pain points" regarding AI tools to inform the AI and EdTech team's broader strategy and product development.
  • Lead Ethical Conversations: Facilitate ongoing dialogues about the ethical implications of AI, ensuring the community remains a safe space for discussing data privacy, bias, and responsible adoption.

Operations & Analytics
  • Community Health Metrics: Develop and track meaningful metrics that reveal real community health, beyond just numbers, showing engagement depth, learning outcomes, and impact. Capture & Share Community Stories: Collect and amplify inspiring "bright spot" stories from educators in the AI LCC, sharing them across Teach For All's communications to show the real-world impact of the work.
  • Collaborate Across the Network: Partner with Regional and Functional teams to ensure the AI community's growth supports Teach For All' to be used in Teach For All's global communications, showing the real-world impact of the AI LCC.
  • Track Trends & Iterate: Monitor community engagement, participation patterns, and learning outcomes to continuously improve the program and make data-informed decisions.

Content Creation & Production
  • Create Engaging Content: Develop, edit and produce original multimedia content (videos, infographics, written guides, toolkits) that translate complex AI concepts into clear, accessible formats for educators across the community.
  • Manage Content flow: Maintain a content calendar and publishing schedule across multiple platforms (social media, email, website) with a focus on mobile-first design and platform best practices.
  • Tell Our Story: Capture candid moments and success stories from the community, turning them into compelling content that shows the real impact of peer-to-peer learning and AI adoption in education.

Qualifications
Community & Leadership Experience
  • Experience building, scaling, and managing high-engagement digital communities, particularly on social-first platforms such as WhatsApp, Telegram, or Discord.
  • Demonstrated experience in distributed or facilitative leadership models, with a proven ability to empower community members to assume leadership and ownership roles rather than relying on top-down moderation.
  • Experience working across global and cross-cultural contexts, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple regions, time zones, and linguistic environments.

AI & Technology Expertise
  • Deep, hands-on experience with foundation models (e.g., Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT, Midjourney) and practical knowledge of applying prompt engineering in educational or professional settings.

Content Creation & Production Expertise
  • Demonstrated experience creating and producing original multimedia content (videos, graphics, infographics, written guides) for digital platforms.
  • Proficiency with content creation and design tools (such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent programs) and familiarity with video editing software.
  • Experience managing content calendars and publishing across multiple digital platforms (social media, websites, email, etc.) with understanding of platform best practices and mobile optimization.
  • Strong ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging, and accessible messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Strong technological acumen, including the ability to confidently integrate AI tools into daily workflows and community practices.

Technical Capabilities
  • Experience using data and community analytics to inform decision-making, track engagement trends, assess sentiment, and support peer-to-peer learning.
  • Create content that explains AI and tech topics in simple terms. Should produce videos, graphics, guides, and resource kits designed for mobile phones.
  • Empathetic and trust-building communicator, capable of engaging educators who may be cautious or skeptical about AI.

Additional desirable skills/experiences:
  • Systems thinker with the ability to understand how individual community interactions can drive large-scale, systemic change in education.
  • Highly agile and curious self-starter who thrives in fast-evolving technology environments and continuously experiments with new AI tools and community-building approaches.
  • Strong alignment with Teach For All's mission and a demonstrated commitment to advancing educational equity and ensuring all children can fulfill their potential.
  • Fluency or working proficiency in Spanish language to support collaboration with Spanish-speaking educators and community members.

What Teach For All Offers:
  • Commitment to cultivating a culture in which all staff members feel they belong, are valued for their contributions, and have an impact on our organization's progress
  • Professional and personal development experiences and ample opportunities to make a positive impact on the work of Teach For All and beyond
