JOB PURPOSE

To serve the students of MBTS and Spurgeon College by researching and implementing administrative projects as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Accurately compile and enter data (e.g., course textbook reports, course evaluations, etc.)
  • Research educational programs and/or scholarly resources
  • Order and maintain supplies and resources (e.g., office supplies, coffee, desk copies of textbooks, etc.)
  • Communicate in a professional and timely manner to students, faculty, and staff
  • Perform other tasks as assigned in support of the academic and administrative projects of the Global Campus.
  • Seek to improve vocational excellence, the efficiency of Global Campus processes, and the culture of the Global Campus Team

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

MUST BE CURRENT STUDENT OF MBTS OR SPURGEON COLLEGE, AND

MUST QUALIFY FOR THE FEDERAL WORK STUDY PROGRAM VIA FAFSA

Including, however not limited to:

  • Christian with high integrity, actively pursuing a relationship with God
  • Pursuing or possessing a Bachelor's degree
  • Familiarity with online education (preferred)
  • Experience using a learning management system (e.g., Canvas) (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of digital communication tools (e.g., Microsoft Outlook and Teams) and Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel)
  • Familiarity with the Southern Baptist Convention, its Cooperative Program, and theological higher education (preferred)
  • Active membership in an evangelical church that is likeminded with MBTS
  • Professional appearance, demeanor, hygiene, and conversational skills
  • Able to multi-task, analyze workload, and prioritize as necessary for the benefit of the department
  • Able to take the initiative to complete the duties of the position without the need of direct supervision.
  • Able to learn and utilize new skills and information to improve job performance and efficiency. 
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as a part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must possess a positive attitude
  • Able to show a desire and willingness to learn
  • Must be able to pass background screening, including driving record
  • Eligible to work in the United States

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • 10-15 hours per week, between the times of 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday (recurring schedule to be determined by employee and supervisor before the position begins)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequently required to sit or stand for periods of time at desk or computer station
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Able lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
