Job description

Role and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assisting with prep work for sewing machine operators which includes trimming of threads, occasional gluing of parts/materials, marking of fabrics.
  • Moving in-process materials from one station to the next and assisting with the packaging of finished products.
  • Ensuring work orders are carefully read and followed.
  • Meeting or exceeding daily and weekly output and quality goals.
  • Understanding and following measurements accurately.
  • Ensuring accurate work times are entered in ERP system.
  • Maintaining safe operations by adhering to safety rules, direction, and procedures.
  • Maintaining the organization and cleanliness of assigned work area, machinery and shared spaces.
  • Additional tasks as assigned by Management.
  • Sewing specific tasks (may not apply to all workers):
    • Acquire proficiency in sewing with understanding of thread tension and seam allowances.
    • Be able to read and interpret spec sheets and sewing standards.
    • May help with some minor sewing repairs, i.e. taking things apart to be redone when necessary.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience working in manufacturing or with sewing machines preferred but not required.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
Preferred Skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptable to changing business needs.
