Radiographer
 

Position Summary

Performs all diagnostic radiologic examinations that create the images needed for diagnosis. The radiographer integrates scientific knowledge and technical skills with effective patient interaction to provide quality patient care and useful diagnostic information.

Primary Position Responsibilities

1. Maintain high degree of accuracy and quality in patient positioning, machine set-up, radiation exposure technique, image acquisition and post-processing.

2. Follow all National Patient Safety Goals.

3. Provide recordkeeping of patient history and symptoms.

4. Review orders, explain procedure, answer questions and provide a high level of patient satisfaction.

5. Assist physician in the performance of fluoroscopic and/or invasive radiological procedures.

6. Maintains cleanliness of department and assures adequate supply inventory.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Required:

Certificate and/or Advanced Specialized or Technical Training in Radiologic Technology-accredited in JRCERT. 

Preferred:

Associates Degree in Radiologic Sciences preferred


Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):

Preferred:

1-2 years Radiography experience preferred


License, Registry or Certification:

Required:

ARRT Registry in Radiography required or registry-eligible and NJDEP Xray License. Current CPR/BLS certification for Health Care Providers.


Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:

Knowledge of diagnostic radiologic examinations and ability to integrate scientific knowledge and technical skills to effectively interact with all patients to provide quality patient care and useful diagnostic information
