How you'll contribute
A CT Radiographer who excels in this role:
  • Provides computerized assisted tomographic/radiologic services as ordered/directed, according to established practices and procedures.
  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
  • When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Prepare equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.

What we're looking for
  • Two years ARRT accredited program in Radiologic Technology
  • Associate's degree (Preferred)
  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
  • ARRT Registry in Radiology (R) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
  • ARRT Registry in Computed Tomography (CT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) in CT (within 1 year hire/transfer)
  • *If not ARRT(CT), then you must work under the supervision of an ARRT(CT) technologist until your ARRT(CT) is obtained.
  • 1 year in radiologic technology and/or CT procedures (Preferred)

What we're looking for
  • Associate's degree is preferred; Training commensurate with ARRT (R) certification is preferred
  • Licenses: ARRT Certification in Radiography is required; ARRT Certification in CT or meets JC Diagnostic Imaging Standards. Meets Certification Requirements for other modalities as required by regulatory agencies is required
  • Meets Certification Requirements for other modalities as required by regulatory agencies is required (Imaging Tech I's are required to become competent in CT as their additional modality and meet certification requirements within 6 months of employment unless already approved for other modality certifications.)
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Certification: BLS
  • Rotates within the department and performs exams in multiple modalities, works various shifts and participates in call rotation as required for the proper functioning of the department.

Highpoint Health - Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas is a 157-bed facility that includes 131 licensed acute care beds and 26 skilled nursing home beds. Fully accredited by The Joint Commission, the hospital offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services supported by a qualified and diverse medical staff. Key services include a 10-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a 12-bed Geriatric Psychiatry Unit, and a 12-bed Acute Inpatient Physical Rehabilitation Unit. The facility also features a Skilled Nursing Unit, Sleep Lab, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, five Operating Rooms, and two Endoscopy Suites. Diagnostic imaging services include MRI, CT, PET/CT, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, and X-ray. The hospital's 13-bay Emergency Department sees more than 15,000 patient visits annually.
Highpoint Health - Sewanee with Ascension Saint Thomas, located on the campus of the University of the South, is a 41-bed facility offering 21 general acute care beds and 20 skilled nursing beds. It includes a 4-bay Emergency Department that treats more than 5,000 patients each year. Known for its individualized care and strong connection to the community, the Sewanee campus provides high-quality healthcare in a setting defined by collaboration, compassion, and service.
