Job description

The Radiographer Apprentice has completed at least two semesters of radiography clinical rotations and is able to perform diagnostic examinations, for which they have demonstrated competency, on patients of all age populations, under the supervision of a registered Radiologic Technologist.
To obtain examinations of the highest quality, the Radiographer Apprentice must demonstrate a high level of clinical expertise and problem solving in the x-ray modality. Under the guidance of the registered Radiologic Technologist, determines appropriate views for ordered examination following established protocols for each study and reviews images for clarity and accuracy to assure the radiologist is able to clearly visualize the area of concern. Additionally, is able to determine appropriateness of providers order in relationship to patients clinical signs and symptoms. The Radiographer Apprentice maintains a strong team orientation, attention to detail, exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills. Conducts self in a professional and courteous manner during all customer interactions. Accepts personal responsibility for professional practice by adhering to standards of the profession. Carries out all responsibilities in line with the organization’s mission, vision and values. This position is independent of clinical rotations and does not provide clinical hours.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Successful completion of two semesters of College Level Coursework- Radiologic Technology
  • BLSP within 30 days of hire

PREFERRED:

  • One year of imaging- radiology experience
