Position Description Summary:
The George Washington School of Nursing invites qualified applicants for a tenure-track open rank faculty position. The School's research interests include symptom science, oncology, behavioral health, health policy and population health. This full-time, 12-month position is scheduled to begin as early as fall 2026. This is an on-campus position, not remote.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain an independent, externally funded research program
• Maintain an ongoing record of scholarly productivity, including publications and presentations
• Teach courses as assigned
• Mentor and advise students in research
• Participate in collaborative, interdisciplinary research teams
• Participate in faculty governance, including serving on departmental, school, and/or university committees
• and participate in a professional capacity in nursing and research organizations at the national and international level.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Earned PhD in nursing, public health, education or related field by the date of application
2. A nursing degree at any level
3. An emerging body of scholarship, as evidenced by presentations and peer-reviewed publications
4. Track record of external funding
5. Strong methodological and statistical skills
6. Prior college-level teaching experience is required, including comfort with in-person and online learning
7. Eligibility for unencumbered DC and VA nursing licensure
