Job Description

The Microsoft 365 Cloud Administrator is responsible for the administration, configuration, security, and operational support of the organization's Microsoft 365 cloud services. This role ensures reliable delivery of collaboration, communication, and productivity services for approximately 4,000 employees across multiple departments.

This role supports the Enterprise Infrastructure Lead in maintaining enterprise platform standards, security, and implementing improvements aligned with the organization's digital workplace and infrastructure strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Microsoft 365 Platform Administration

  • Administer and maintain the Microsoft 365 tenant, including Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online platform services, OneDrive, and related services.
  • Configure and manage Microsoft Intune for device management, endpoint compliance, and mobile device management (MDM/MAM).
  • Manage Microsoft 365 tenant settings, identity integrations, and service configurations.
  • Maintain role-based access control and service policies within the Microsoft 365 environment aligned with security best practices.

Endpoint and Device Management

  • Administer Microsoft Intune to manage device enrollment, compliance policies, and endpoint security standards.
  • Manage device configuration profiles, application deployment, and security baselines.
  • Support lifecycle management of corporate devices, including patching and update policies.

Collaboration and Messaging Services

  • Administer Microsoft Teams, including policies, governance controls, collaboration features, and integration with other Microsoft services.
  • Manage Exchange Online messaging services, including mail flow, mailbox provisioning, retention policies, and security configuration.
  • Ensure stable operation and performance of Microsoft 365 collaboration platforms.

SharePoint Online Platform Administration

  • Administer and maintain the SharePoint Online platform, including tenant configuration, service settings, storage management, and governance policies.
  • Define and maintain SharePoint governance standards, including site provisioning policies, security configurations, and lifecycle management.
  • Work collaboratively with the Application Development team responsible for SharePoint-based solutions, workflows, and application development.
  • Provide platform support and guidance to ensure SharePoint solutions align with platform architecture, security policies, and operational standards.

Governance, Security, and Compliance

  • Implement governance controls across Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive to ensure secure collaboration and appropriate data access.
  • Configure and maintain Microsoft 365 security and compliance features, including conditional access, data loss prevention, retention policies, and audit capabilities.
  • Support cybersecurity teams in monitoring and responding to Microsoft 365 security alerts and incidents.
Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience

Experience

  • 3-5+ years of experience administering Microsoft 365 environments in a medium to large enterprise environment
  • Experience supporting cloud collaboration platforms serving large user populations
  • Experience working collaboratively with application development teams supporting SharePoint or enterprise collaboration solutions

Technical Skills

  • Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint Online
  • Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access, and identity security
  • Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager
  • Microsoft 365 governance and compliance features
  • PowerShell automation
  • Power Platform administration (preferred)

Preferred Certifications

  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert
  • Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator
  • ITIL Foundation

Additional Requirements

  • Must live in or around the Fort Wayne, IN area and be willing to work a hybrid schedule, with Tuesday and Thursday onsite preferred
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
