Online Photo Editing information

What is online photo editing?

Online photo editing refers to the process of enhancing, retouching, or manipulating digital photos using web-based software or applications. These tools allow users to adjust brightness, contrast, color, remove blemishes, crop images, and apply filters without needing to install software on their computer. Online photo editors are accessible from any device with internet access, making them convenient for both professionals and casual users. Popular online photo editors include Canva, Fotor, and Pixlr.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an online photo editor?

To thrive as an Online Photo Editor, you need a solid understanding of visual composition, color correction, and image enhancement, often backed by experience or training in digital photography or graphic design. Mastery of editing tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and familiarity with digital asset management systems is typically required. Attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients or team members are valuable soft skills. These competencies ensure high-quality, visually appealing content that meets client specifications and deadlines in a competitive digital marketplace.

Job description

Photographer / Photo Editor

Shoebacca · Irving, TX (On-site) · Full-time

Pay: $21.00 / hour

The Role

Our dynamic photography team is looking for an inquisitive, detail-oriented, and exceptionally organized editor and photographer. This is a heavy editing position with a natural eye for composition and a talent for working fast in a busy, hands-on environment. You'll take product from the warehouse to the website, capturing, editing, and delivering the images customers rely on to shop with confidence.

This is a digital, on-site role that blends studio work, product staging, and serious photo editing. If you love craft, speed, and getting the details right, start here.

What You'll Do

•     Edit heavily: download and edit vendor images and shoot your own, retouching in Adobe Photoshop with accuracy and speed; this role lives in Photoshop.

•     Shoot product: capture clean, consistent images using the Ortery PhotoBench and camera, in-studio and on occasional offsite shoots.

•     Stage and reset: prep items for the shoot (order, tags, shoelaces, stuffing shoes and bags, steaming clothing), then return product to its original condition and packaging.

•     Move product: place finished samples in the designated location for warehouse pickup, and collect samples from the warehouse when needed.

•     Work faster: build batch-editing and automation processes to improve speed to site.

•     Work the data: use Excel (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, pivot tables) and Tableau to cultivate and manage product image lists.

•     Audit the images: catch errors, mismatches, and missing shots before customers do; you're the quality bar for what goes live.

•     Partner across teams: coordinate with merchandising, buying, and warehouse to shoot the right product and get it to site accurately and on time.

What You Bring

There are a few things we need you to bring on day one:

•     Expert-level editing. Extensive working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop; you're skilled, fast, and consistent, with a strong eye for detail.

•     Strong Excel skills. Genuinely comfortable with VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and pivot tables. Assessed day one.

•     Studio and workflow tools. Working knowledge of the Ortery machine, FileZilla, and product and vendor photography.

•     Self-direction. You take a task, ask smart questions up front, and run with it, delivering accurate work with little to no supervision, and the judgment to raise a flag rather than sit on a problem.

Also great to have:

•     Comfort using Claude AI to speed up documentation, metadata, shot lists, and file-naming standards

•     Relentless attention to detail and strong time management

•     Solid communication with co-workers and supervisors, and a collaborative, solution-oriented approach

•     Footwear/fashion or e-commerce catalog background

Physical Requirements

•     Able to lift up to 30 lbs on occasion, squat to pick up product, and reach overhead

•     Comfortable multitasking and working with today's technology in a fast-paced studio

Perks & Benefits

•     401(k) with 3% employer match

•     Health, dental, and vision insurance

•     HSA & FSA

•     Life insurance

•     10 days of paid time off

•     Employee discount on Shoebacca products

Schedule & Details

•     Pay: $21.00 / hour

•     Hours: 40 per week; Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

•     Weekends: minimal weekend work as business requires

•     Type: Full-time · On-site

•     Location: Irving, TX (in person)

•     Experience: Adobe Photoshop, 3 years (required)
