Job Description:
The Visiting Instructor/Assistant Professor of Mathematics will teach math courses for LSU Eunice on the LSU Baton Rouge campus as part of the Bengals to Tigers Program, with the possibility of online sections of math as well. The instructor/assistant professor is responsible for the development and instruction of course materials in the field of mathematics, both on campus and online, and is capable of teaching freshman and sophomore college-level courses.
Job Duties
65% Instruct college level mathematics courses and mathematics support courses.
20% Office hours and advising
10% Committee Work/University Service
5% Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's in Mathematics or related field
OR Master's degree in unrelated field plus 18 credit hours in related math field from a regionally accredited institution
Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Mathematics or related field
3 years' experience
College Level instruction in Mathematics
Special and/or Physical Qualifications:
Must be able to teach on the LSU Baton Rouge Campus.
Job Competencies:
Ability to teach effectively and incorporate a variety of teaching strategies to maximize learning-Advanced
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal & written)-Advanced
Ability to adhere to university policies and meet data submission deadlines-Advanced
