Full-Time Assistant Teaching Professor Position(s) in the Department of Mathematics (Temporary)
The Department of Mathematics at Rowan University invites applications for one or more Full-Time Temporary Assistant Teaching Professor positions in mathematics, statistics, data science, or closely related fields.
The department seeks candidates who are deeply committed to excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate will teach a range of undergraduate and graduate courses across mathematics, statistics, and data science, as appropriate to the candidate's expertise. In addition to teaching, candidates are expected to make meaningful and substantive service contributions to the department and to its undergraduate and graduate programs. Teaching Professors are also expected to engage in ongoing professional development to remain current in their disciplinary expertise and in evidence-based instructional practices.
The Department of Mathematics is one of six departments in the College of Science & Mathematics, which also includes the School of Earth & Environment. The department is a dynamic and growing unit offering B.A., B.S., and M.A. degrees in Mathematics, as well as B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Data Science (the latter jointly with the Department of Computer Science). The department contributes to numerous degree programs across the university and serves approximately 6,000 students annually. Faculty maintain active, externally funded research programs, cultivate strong industry partnerships, and collaborate across disciplines. The department is committed to sustaining a vibrant academic culture while delivering transformative educational experiences for students.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a closely related discipline by the start date of the appointment. The positions are 10-month, with the appointment of 2 years, and include benefits. Successful candidates will teach a total of 24 credits over two semesters, with the option to teach overload and summer classes for additional compensation.

In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is:
