Position Summary
Blue Ridge Community and Technical College is seeking part-time, as needed adjunct faculty members to teach college-level mathematics courses in the School of Workforce and Engineering Technology.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Providing classroom and laboratory instruction of college-level mathematics.
  • This load may include in-person, hybrid, and/or online classes with day and evening course assignments. In-person course assignments can include courses at any campus location.
  • In addition to teaching, instructor must assure email availability to students outside of class, track and enter weekly attendance via BRIDGE, and meet deadlines for accurate submission of midterm and final grades via BRIDGE.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
  • Master's degree in mathematics, mathematics education, or a related field with a minimum of 18 credits of graduate level coursework in mathematics.

Experience
  • Preference will be given to applicants with experience in teaching mathematics at the secondary or college level. Teaching experience in a community college setting is preferred, and experience with online instruction is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills are required due to intensive use of online mathematics course management system. This does not exclude anyone willing to learn!
