Position: GIS Coordination Support Specialist (Mid-Level)

Location: Raleigh, NC 27601 (Office 1 day/wk; remote otherwise)
Client: North Carolina
Duration: 12+ Months

Job Description: We're seeking a mid-level GIS Coordination Support Specialist to assist in coordinating GIS initiatives, providing administrative support for subcommittees, and delivering technical support for working groups. You'll work closely with the GIS Coordination Program Manager to plan, develop, and evaluate policies, strategies, and initiatives. The role requires strong written communication for charters, reports, minutes, and website content, plus hands-on GIS work, data management, and online content creation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support GIS coordination activities, including data management, workflow automation, and quality checks for publication.
  • Create and update geospatial datasets, and build online content (applications and websites) using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online tools.
  • Produce static maps, visualizations, and cartography to clearly communicate patterns and issues.
  • Document needs from working groups, research solutions, and report options for implementation.
  • Collaborate on charter development, framework schemas, and website designs; ensure data accuracy and accessibility.
