Job description

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 7 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, GO, or C codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience with design and architecture, and testing or launching software products.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $262,000-$365,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical direction, architectural design, and execution of large-scale data platforms, high-throughput streaming pipelines, and distributed storage systems that process advanced map attributes.
  • Design highly reliable, privacy-compliant systems to ingest and process real-time sensor observations at global scale to continuously update Google Maps.
  • Establish technical consensus and build collaborative relationships across product, engineering, and external automotive partners to deliver roadmap priorities.
  • Mentor other engineers, advocate software engineering best practices, and cultivate a high-performance technical culture.
