Job Title: EDI Developer
Location: REMOTE

Job Description:
Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
• Lead end-to-end migration of Gentran maps and workflows to ITXA, including analysis, redesign, map rebuilding, testing, and implementation.
• Perform full ITXA installations on new Windows Server environments, including runtime configuration, security setup, database connectivity (ODBC/JDBC), and platform validation.
• Manage ITXA application upgrades, including patching, environment preparation, regression testing, performance tuning, and deployment coordination.
• Design, develop, and optimize EDI transformations using IBM ITX/WTX, ITXA, and healthcare-specific mapping standards.
• Build and support EDI workflows using Edifecs (XEngine, SpecBuilder, Transaction Manager) to ensure scalable and compliant transaction processing.
• Ensure high-quality processing of key ANSI X12 healthcare transactions, including 835 (Remittance Advice), 834 (Enrollment), and 837 (Claims).
• Support additional transaction sets such as 270/271 (Eligibility Inquiry/Response) as needed.
• Use advanced SQL skills to perform data validation, lookup logic, auditing, and reconciliation across large datasets.
• Configure and troubleshoot ODBC connections required for Gentran, ITX/ITXA transformations and database interactions.
• Develop and maintain Perl scripts for pre-processing, post-processing, automation, and legacy Gentran utilities.
• Provide Tier-3 troubleshooting for EDI processing issues involving maps, connectivity, database lookups, transport protocols, and system performance.
• Collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and external trading partners to translate complex EDI requirements into functional mapping and workflow design.
• Document migration procedures, installation steps, mapping logic, and system configurations to ensure consistent operational readiness.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 7+ years of hands-on EDI development experience, including SME-level proficiency with IBM ITX/WTX, IBM ITXA, Gentran, and Edifecs.
• Proven experience leading Gentran-to-ITXA migrations and performing ITXA installations and upgrades (required).
• Strong knowledge of ANSI X12 healthcare transactions (835, 834, 837 required; 270/271 a plus).
• dvanced proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, including query development, optimization, and data validation.
• Strong experience with ODBC connections, system integration, and database-driven mapping logic.
• Proficiency in Perl scripting and Java is required.
• Experience with SFTP, AS2, HTTPS, certificates, and secure EDI transport methods.
• Familiarity with claims processing, eligibility systems, or other healthcare payer platforms (vision or Medicaid/MMIS experience is a plus).
Salary Range: $100,000 to $130,000 per year
