Senior Software Engineer

Our client has an urgent need for a software engineer with Perl scripting and expertise in EDI specifications using X12 standards, particularly with 834 transactions. This is a 6 month project and the candidate can be 100% remote.

We are seeking a skilled Perl developer with expertise in EDI and X12, particularly with 834 transactions, to join our team as a contractor. In this role, you will work closely with our existing development team to design, develop, and maintain our EDI system, with a focus on processing 834 transactions.

Responsibilities:

As a Perl Developer with EDI and X12 experience, you will be responsible for a range of tasks related to EDI development, particularly with X12 and 834 transactions. These tasks include:

  • Design, develop, and maintain EDI applications and systems using Perl: You will be responsible for designing and developing EDI applications and systems using the Perl programming language. You will be required to develop clean, efficient, and maintainable code, ensuring that it meets all project requirements.
  • Develop and implement EDI mapping specifications using X12 standards, particularly with 834 transactions: You will be responsible for developing and implementing EDI mapping specifications using X12 standards. In particular, you will be expected to have experience with 834 transactions, which are used in healthcare benefit enrollment and maintenance.
  • Work closely with business partners to ensure EDI transactions are processed correctly and meet their requirements: You will work closely with business partners to ensure that EDI transactions are processed correctly and meet their requirements. You will be required to have excellent communication skills, as you will be the main point of contact for all EDI-related queries.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve EDI related issues and errors: As a Perl Developer with EDI and X12 experience, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving EDI related issues and errors. You will be expected to have excellent problem-solving skills and be able to work quickly and efficiently to resolve issues.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for EDI processes and systems: You will be responsible for creating and maintaining technical documentation for EDI processes and systems. This will include writing technical specifications, user manuals, and other documentation as required.
  • Collaborate with other developers and project managers to ensure timely completion of projects: You will work closely with other developers and project managers to ensure that projects are completed on time and to a high standard. Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:
