Job description

Online Auction & Listing Specialist

La Mesa / San Diego (91941, 92120, 92124) – Part-Time

Caring Transitions of La Mesa specializes in assisting seniors through life’s most significant transitions. A cornerstone of our "White-Glove" service is our proprietary online auction platform, CTBids. We are seeking a detail-oriented, creative, and tech-savvy Online Auction Specialist to help us unlock the value of our clients' estates.

In this role, you aren't just "listing items"—you are a digital curator. You will use your eye for detail to showcase everything from everyday household goods to high-value collectibles, antiques, and fine art, ensuring every item finds its best new home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Listing Creation: Develop compelling, high-converting auction listings on our ctbids.com platform.

  • Expert Research & Photography: Conduct thorough research to identify the history and value of estate items. Take professional, high-quality photographs that highlight unique features, signatures, and condition.

  • The "4 M’s" Standard: Ensure every auction lot title and description is precise, error-free, and includes the 4 M’s: Measurements, Material, Movement, and Markings.

  • On-Site Curation: Visit client homes throughout La Mesa, Del Cerro, and Tierrasanta to identify, sort, and prepare marketable items for sale.

  • Inventory Mastery: Manage the flow of items from discovery to final cataloging, maintaining a "Strategic Mindset" to meet project deadlines.

Requirements

  • Hospitality Mindset: Exceptional customer service skills and a professional, compassionate demeanor when working in client homes.

  • Integrity & Reliability: Strong character and the ability to work independently or as part of a high-energy team.

  • Resilience: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting and remain comfortable working in varied environments (including cluttered or dusty spaces).

  • Physical Capability: Ability to handle tasks including prolonged standing, repetitive bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.

  • Tech Proficiency: Access to a smartphone and computer; ability to quickly learn the CTBids platform.

  • Mobile & Professional: Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass a background check.

Position Details

  • Pay Rate: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour

  • Job Type: Part-time, with potential for increased hours during high-volume weeks.

  • Schedule: 5–8 hour shifts, primarily Monday–Friday, with occasional Saturdays as projects require.

  • Benefits: Flexible scheduling and the opportunity to work with unique, high-value assets across San Diego.
