What is online life insurance?

Online life insurance refers to purchasing a life insurance policy through a digital platform rather than through a traditional in-person agent. This process allows customers to compare policies, get quotes, and even complete applications entirely online, making it more convenient and often faster. Many online life insurance providers also offer tools and resources to help users determine the best coverage for their needs. The approval process may be quicker, and some policies do not require a medical exam. However, it's important to carefully review terms and coverage details before making a decision.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an online life insurance agent?

To thrive as an Online Life Insurance Agent, you need a solid understanding of insurance products, sales techniques, and typically a state-issued insurance license. Familiarity with CRM software, online quoting tools, and digital communication platforms is essential for managing client interactions and applications. Strong interpersonal skills, active listening, and the ability to build trust remotely are crucial soft skills for success in this role. These skills and qualifications ensure agents can effectively guide clients through the purchasing process, provide accurate information, and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction in a virtual environment.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in online life insurance sales, and how can they be overcome?

Professionals in online life insurance sales often encounter challenges such as building trust with clients virtually, navigating complex digital platforms, and keeping up with evolving regulatory requirements. To overcome these, it's important to prioritize clear communication, leverage video calls to establish rapport, and stay updated on the latest industry guidelines. Additionally, effective collaboration with underwriters and customer service teams ensures a smooth client experience and improves overall sales outcomes.

Job description

The McCrimmon Agency is looking for motivated, coachable people who aspire to building something of their own.

This is a remote, commission-based opportunity for someone who values flexibility, personal growth, mentorship, and the opportunity of a long-term career in the life insurance industry.

  • Final expenses
  • Ability to maintain their lifestyle when unexpected events occur

As an independent brokerage, we have access to products from 30+ insurance companies, allowing our agents to help clients find solutions based on their individual needs rather than being limited to one carrier.

No prior insurance experience is required. We provide training, mentorship, licensing guidance, and ongoing coaching to help you develop the knowledge and skills required to build a professional insurance career.

  • Track your activity and results; CRM experience is helpful but not required

Who Weโ€™re Looking For:

We look for people who:

  • Keep their commitments
  • Accept coaching
  • Take responsibility for their results
  • Communicate well
  • Care about people
  • Are willing to learn
  • Can handle rejection and keep moving forward
  • Have the discipline to work independently
  • Want to build something rather than simply find another job

What You Can Expect From Us:

  • Flexibility with your schedule; fully remote and full-time or part-time
  • A schedule built around your business and client needs
  • Structured training and onboarding
  • Licensing guidance (if needed)
  • Proven systems and CRM tools

  • Willing to obtain a Life & Health Insurance license in your state (if not already licensed)
  • Comfortable with a 100% commission-based compensation structure

Pay:

  • 1099 contractor; commissions only
  • Earnings are not guaranteed and are directly connected to your activity, production, consistency, and ability to build and maintain your business.
  • Many full-time, active agents target $75,000โ€“$150,000+ annually, with top performers having the ability to exceed that based on production.
