Description
The Coral Springs Regional Institute of Public Safety is a full service accredited, certified training center that runs the following core classes: Firefighter 1 & 2, Paramedic, EMT, Driver Engineer, FLUSAR (TRT), Fire Officer, Live Fire, and all AHA classes. These are some of the specialties that an individual can apply for to teach. Each area has its own requirements which a candidate should be familiar with prior to applying. The applicant performs highly responsible instructional work involving coordination, scheduling and interaction with students both in lecture and skill assessment. Learning the use of our management system, rules and regulations are a necessity. An instructor ensures all work is performed according to established safety standards, Federal, State, local codes/regulations.

Typical Qualifications
Fire Instructor (minimum standards):
  • Current State Certified Firefighter
  • Current Fire Instructor 1
  • Current Fire Officer 1
  • Currently Active or Retired
  • Internal reference from CSRIPS employee preferred

Emergency Medical Technician & Paramedic Instructor:
  • Current State or National Certification (EMT/Paramedic)
  • Associates Degree
  • BLS Instructor
  • Level A EMS Instructor Trainer Course
  • Minimum of 3 years field provider experience with an ALS provider.
  • Currently Active or Retired
  • Internal reference from CSRIPS employee preferred

Driver Engineer & Aerial Instructor:
  • State Certified Firefighter
  • Fire Instructor 1
  • Current certifications FFP1301, FFP1302 & ATPC703
  • Currently Working as a Driver Engineer or held the position minimum of 3 years
  • Internal reference from CSRIPS employee preferred

FLUSAR / TRT Instructor:
  • All requirements for Fire Instructor (noted above)
  • Current certifications in both Operations and Technicians level for:
    • Rope, Trench, Confined Space, VMR & Structural Collapse

Fire Officer:
  • Current State Certified Firefighter
  • Current Fire Instructor 2 or 3
  • Fire Officer 2 or 3
  • Associates Degree
  • 10 years of teaching experience
