 Job Developer
The West Oakland Job Resource Center (WOJRC) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), organization, the mission of which is to transform the lives of underserved residents of West Oakland and the greater Bay Area by building a thriving, inclusive community that provides financial and economic opportunities, and by catalyzing industry and policy changes.
WOJRC is seeking a highly self-motivated individual with a minimum of five (5) years job development experience, who is flexible, can multi-task, can work under pressure, requires minimal supervision, and can work in a team setting.
Position Summary: This is an at-will, full-time, non-exempt salary position in the West Oakland Job Resource Center. The Job Developer will report directly to the Program Manager and will provide programmatic assistance to meet the operational needs of WOJRC.
The goals for the Job Developer are to recruit clients, conduct client trainings, and assist clients in securing employment in the Construction and Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics Industries.
The Job Developer is responsible for recruiting and managing a caseload of 40-60 clients per year. In addition, the Job Developer will coordinate and refer clients to other WOJRC and, when needed, partner agency services. The Job Developer is responsible for building on-going industry knowledge and relationships and introducing our programs and services to potential employers or union representatives. The Job Developer will call on a minimum of three (3) employers monthly to discuss ways to improve services and meet labor market needs more effectively. They will also follow up with employers after placing clients to determine their overall satisfaction.
Lastly, the Job Developer will be asked to participate in different community events, be responsible for building relationships with community partners, assist in various organizational workshops and events, and perform data entry on a number of different data collection platforms.
Job Duties:& Responsibilities
● Conduct client outreach and recruitment activities
● Develop partnerships with regional employers
● Maintain active knowledge of Construction and Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics Industries
● Facilitate client orientations
● Perform client in-take and assessment
Conduct/participate in Job Readiness Trainings
● Provide client follow-up and retention services
● Perform job development, job referral, and job placement services
● Data entry performed on daily basis
 ● Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual client progress reports
Skills/Experiences:
● Strong job development experience.
● Experience recruiting and working with a diverse population
● Experience conducting client trainings
● Strong case management skills
● Strong communication and written skills
● Good time management, ability to prioritize, and is well-organized
● Good listening skills
● Must be goal- and outcome-oriented
● Attention to detail
● Ability to meet deadlines
● Must be a self-starter
• Must be flexible and able to work early, late evening hours or weekends periodically
● Must be willing to travel
• Strong data-entry experience
• Sound written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks
● Being bilingual is a plus COMPENSATION
• Salary range: $60,000 to $65,000, depending on experience
• 80 % of fringe benefits
