Job Description
Indiana University East is seeking qualified part-time faculty members to teach in its nationally recognized online math program. The online classes range from calculus to topics at the senior and graduate level, such as statistics, numerical methods and real analysis. Additional responsibilities include teaching-related assessment. This is a remote position and physical presence on campus is not required.
This job posting announces future anticipated teaching opportunities. Applicant should submit a resume, letter of interest (detailing any specific areas of interest in teaching mathematics) and an unofficial copy of their graduate transcript. Applications will be reviewed by the department as the need for instructors arises, and candidates will be notified if they are chosen to interview. Adjunct positions are contracted on a semester-by-semester basis. At this time, the School is specifically interested in deepening the adjunct faculty pool with candidates whose graduate training and teaching experience includes the following disciplines:
Intermediate and Advanced Statistics
Financial Mathematics
Probability Theory
Mathematical Models
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Teach online courses.
Manage the learning environment through keeping accurate records, submitting grades and other reports on time, and enforcing school and campus academic policies.
Demonstrate the ability to develop a professional rapport with diverse populations within the university and community.
Hold one hour online office hours per week, per course.

Basic Qualifications
Qualifications
An earned Masters degree or higher with 18+ graduate credit hours in the field to be taught is required to teach lower-level math courses.
An earned Doctorate degree with 18+ graduate credit hours in the field to be taught is required to teach upper-level math courses.
A demonstrated strong desire to excel in teaching and provide ongoing support for student success in and out of the classroom.
